Will phones or smartwatches be allowed for this event?
In order to maximize your student’s overall camp experience and limit distractions, all cell phones and smartwatches will be collected at check-in on Friday. (We prefer that they leave these at home.) Small group leaders will keep them in a bag in case of an emergency and return them on Sunday morning. You can contact your student’s small group leaders or a Transit staff member if you need to reach your student in the event of an emergency.
How will parents be contacted in case of an emergency?
Someone on staff will call the phone number you provided when you registered your student. We will provide you with a main staff contact for Transit Weekend the week of the event, along with additional information about the weekend.
Will there be a medical professional at Transit Weekend?
Yes. We will have an EMT present during the main sessions. If your student requires medication during the event, please communicate with their small group leaders at check-in.
Where will my student be staying during Transit Weekend?
Students will be staying in host homes with their small group throughout the weekend. Typically, they stay in the home of one of the students in their group.
All adults in the home will be background checked.
You will receive an email the week of Transit Weekend with the address of the host home for your student’s small group.
What if my student has a food allergy?
Please indicate any allergies in your student’s registration. We will do our best to accommodate your student’s food allergy throughout the weekend.
Does my student need to bring anything for Transit Weekend?
Sleeping bag and pillow
Clothes and shoes for free time (may get dirty)
Toiletries (deodorant, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.)
Bath towel
Bible, notebook, pen
Is there financial assistance available?
We offer financial assistance to families who need help due to a financial hardship. After the team reviews your application, they will determine if your student qualifies for a reduced rate and the amount. Our funding is limited, so a reduced rate is not guaranteed. Apply here →
